This pattern is written in U.S. crochet terms and abbreviations,
This pattern is worked up in multiple stitches of 6 + 1 at the end of the Foundation row.
Turning chains (1 & 3) do not count as a stitch.

Stitches

Foundation Single Crochet- Ch 2, insert hook into first chain, pull up a loop so you have two loops on your hook. Yarn over, pull through one loop, yarn over pull through both loops. This will make a “V” insert hook into the “V” and do the same steps.
Shell Stitch- Work five double crochet stitches into the next stitch. Skip two stitches. Single crochet in the next stitch. Skip two stitches.

Row 1- FDSC 85, CH 3 turn.

Row 2- 2 DC in first ST, SK 2 ST’s, *SC, SK 2, SHST* Repeat from * across, In last ST, 3DC, CH 1, turn.

Row 3- SC in in first ST, SK 2 * SHST, SK 2, SC, * repeat from * across. In last stitch SC in the top CH SP. CH 3, turn.

Row 4- 2 DC in first ST, SK 2 ST’s, *SC, SK 2, SHST* Repeat from * across, In last ST, 3DC, CH 1, turn.

Row 5- SC in in first ST, SK 2 * SHST, SK 2, SC, * repeat from * across. In last stitch SC in the top CH SP. CH 3, turn.

Row 6- 2 DC in first ST, SK 2 ST’s, *SC, SK 2, SHST* Repeat from * across, In last ST, 3DC, CH 1, turn.

Row 7- SC in in first ST, SK 2 * SHST, SK 2, SC, * repeat from * across. In last stitch SC in the top CH SP. DO NOT TURN! SC evenly down the side of your work. (SC7)

NOTE- You are now working on the other side of your FDSC.

Row 8- CH 3, 2 DC in first ST, SK 2 ST’s, *SC, SK 2, SHST* Repeat from * across, In last ST, 3 DC. CH 1, DO NOT TURN! SC down the side of your work (8SC) SLST into the end corner ST.
